*Jesus does the cup song at the Last Supper* You’re going to miss me when I’m gone.
There needs to be a phrase for “I acknowledge your apology and appreciate it but it does not make things better.” instead of just saying “It’s okay.” all the time.
Anonymous asked: i'm failing my first year of college so hard is there something wrong with me (sorry to bother you)
please don’t ever feel sorry for needing to talk to someone about something that’s bothering you. i’m always here to listen, anon.
there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. some people have a harder time than others with college and that’s perfectly normal. sometimes it’s a matter of rushing into college right after high school, or just not being able to adjust because of the drastic changes (environment, lack of friends, financial burdens, depression due to stress, unhealthy eating/sleeping habits, and a lot more than college students can suffer from).
there are so many factors that can contribute to not doing as well as you had hoped. it has nothing to do with your level of intelligence or who you are as a person. also, college isn’t for everyone! and if you feel like it’s not for you, then that’s okay, too. or even if you feel like you need a break, since i did that between high school and my first college, then again when i was transferring to the university i’m currently at.
i can’t go into specifics with you since i don’t know your history or any other kind of information, but rest assured that there is nothing wrong with you. keep fighting and remember that there are always resources out there to help you! most colleges have things beyond academic advising, like study groups or tutors. your professors are also there to help you succeed. anytime i had a problem i went to them and asked what i could do to improve, and most of them were very helpful and directed me to other things that could improve my grades.
be sure to look into that if you continue to have difficulties. i’m not sure what it’s like at your college, but both my previous college and current uni had mental health services with counselors that can also give you another boost. there’s nothing wrong with reaching out and utilizing the tools that are offered to you.
if you need to talk more feel free to message me off of anon and we can talk more and potentially discuss things further :) i’d be more than happy to help you with anything you need and guide you if you still feel lost and don’t know where to start❤
